Z is for Zebra and Zachary - Scrappy Monday with My Creative Time

Hello my friends!  Today is Scrappy Monday over at My Creative Time.  The challenge was to  make our layouts based on a letter! an "ABC" layout!  I used the letter Z.  My son's favorite animal is a Zebra and his name starts with Z too!
My layout is 8 x 8.  I used a picture from his birthday along with the Zebra card I made him.  I attached the card with repositional glue so it can still be removed if he decides he wants to take it off.  I also used some "Zebra" print paper and a "Z" charm I had in my stash.

Supplies:
Create-a-Critter Cartridge and Gypsy
New Leaf, White and True Black Card Stock  -  Papertrey Ink

Thank you for visiting my blog.  Please go see what the other ladies have made for Scrappy Monday!

Have a Wonderful Week!

Show Me Your Technique Tuesday - Using Napkins as Paper

Good Morning, welcome to Technique Tuesday Mini Blog Hop with My Creative Time.  You should have arrived here from Veronica's Blog.

Today for my technique I made some background paper and flowers with fast food and party napkins I had laying around. (I always have these napkins around from my numerous coffee runs, hehehe!)

I came across this idea when I needed to add a shim to the top of my cuttlebug plates to make sure a die cut all the way through some felt.  I put the napkin on top of the plates and cranked them through.  I noticed how the napkin had changed into a nice, smooth paper like consistency.  I tried stamping on it and cutting it with a die and it worked very nicely.  I got so excited because there have been so many beautiful napkins I would LOVE to use as paper.  I was thinking how much I could add to scrapbook layouts with napkins from my kids parties and special occasions!

In order to get the napkins smooth the cuttlebug plates must be loaded with some paper inside, then place the napkins on top.  It should be a tight fit or else the napkin will get jammed in the rollers!

I made some tags to go with coffee cup cozies I crocheted to give as gifts.  There are lots of free patterns available online.  I used Emma's Flower Petal dies to make the attached flowers.

I stamped this using Emma's Coffee Backgrounds stamp set.  Then cut it out with the Just Tags die.

The background is made with a natural colored napkin and the flowers with a white napkin.  I used Distress Ink to color the flower.

I also made a tag and cozie in Halloween colors.  One flower in from a white napkin and the other is from a patterned party napkin.

Here are the wrapped up finished products!

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Smashbook Layout - Scraping the Little Thinngs with My Creative Time

ood Morning!  I hope you all had a nice weekend!  Today is Scrapping the Little Things over at My Creative Time.  This is the day that Emma and her design team showcase "Project Life", "Project Life "like" layouts as well as "Smashbooking".

I did some Smashbook pages with pics from our trip to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in the Magic Kingdom at Disney World.  My twins got the "Royal" treatment!  Isabel got her hair and make up done, while Zach got some cool hair gel and confetti!

If you noticed that Isabel's dress changed color (hehe) it's because at the Cinderella Castle Dinner,  a waiter accidentally spilled a drink on Isa's dress!  They were so sweet and gave her the blue one!

I used Smashbook page inserts to attach the two brochures.  There is adhesive inside the insert that you can stick your item on to attach it to the book.

I used several of Emma's dies and stamps on this page.
The stitched circle die worked SO perfectly cutting out pictures!  The Just Tags die I used to make the little "envelopes".

Other Supplies
Scallop and Cloud Corner Chomper  -  Crop-a-Dial
Dwell 6x6  paper pad  -  My Mind's Eye
Super Hero paper  -  Momenta
Mickey Head brads  -  Scrapbook Expo
Smashbook and Smashbook page inserts  -  K&Company

Please head on over to My Creative Time to see what Emma and the ladies have for you to see today!  I hope you have a great one!
Love and Hugs,
Cathryn :)
