Hi Friends!
My project for today is a Snow Globe Gift Box that measures 3 1/2 x 3 3/4 x 1 1/4". It is the perfect size for some home made cookies or treats. I used the Cloche dies, Cloche Shaker Domes, Penguin Place stamp set, Penguin Builder Punch and Penguin Playmates SALEABRATION Designer Series Paper.
I started with a piece of Fresh Freesia Cardstock sized
10 3/4 x 7 1/4".
I scored the 10 3/4" side at:
1 1/4, 4 3/4, 6 and 9 1/2".
I scored the 7 1/4" side at:
1/2, 1 3/4, 5 1/2 and 6 3/4".
Below is a picture of what your cardstock should look like after scoring, cutting and rounded some of the corners with the Detail Trio Punch.
To cut and put the box together you can watch my Video Tutorial Here.
I put the box together using Tear and Tape.
I used 6 pieces of Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper for the box:
(1) 3 1/2 x 3 1/4" for the front
(2) 1 x 3 1/2 for the long sides
(2) 1 x 3 1/4" for the short sides
I cut the cloche shape in the middle of the front DSP ( 3 1/2 x 3 1/4" piece) using the Cloche die.
I placed the DSP centered on the front of the box and put a pencil mark along the bottom of the die cut to mark where I should put the Penguin Cloche die cut.
I attached the Cloche Shaker Dome to the bottom of the front DSP where the cut out is.
I cut the penguin from Basic Black and Basic White Cardstocks using the Penguin Builder Punch. I cut the feet from Pumpkin Pie Cardstock.
I attached the White piece on top of the Black piece with Liquid Glue.
I stamped the eyes, with Tuxedo Black Ink, using the Penguin Place stamp set.
I stamped the mouth with Mango Melody Ink.
I stamped the hat and scarf using Soft Sea foam Ink.
I fussy cut the hat and scarf and attached them, along with the feet, with Liquid Glue.
I used the other side of the piece that was cut out of the front DSP for the inside of the cloche.
I attached the penguin to the Cloche die cut with Dimensionals.
I attached the entire piece onto the front of the box using the pencil mark as a guide.
I added sequins on top of the Penguin so that they would not interfere with putting the Shaker Dome on the box.
I removed the back adhesive cover on the Cloche Shaker Dome and attached the DSP over the Penguin on top of the box. I made sure the edges of the shaker dome were attached securely to the box.
I cut the bottom of the dome from Soft Suede Cardstock using the Cloche dies and glued it below the Shaker Dome with Liquid Glue.
I attached some Velcro Dots to the flap for a closure.
I stamped the sentiment onto Fresh Freesia Cardstock with Tuxedo Black Ink.
I cut the sentiment out with a tag die from Frightful Tags dies.
I attached the label to the to oof the Shaker Dome with a Glue Dot.
I tied a bow with White Baker's Twine and attached it over the end of the sentiment with a Glue Dot.
