NUTS ABOUT SQUIRRELS MALLOMAR GIFT BOX TUTORIAL with GIVING GIFTS DIES - Stampin' Up!

Hi Friends!

My project today is a gift box with a Belly Band for 3 Mallowmar Cookies.  It measures  5 1/2  x  2 1/4  x 1".  I used Nuts about Squirrels stamp set, Giving Gifts dies, Harvest Meadow Designer Series Paper, Matte Decorative Dots and the Layering Circle dies.

I started with a piece of Cajun Craze Cardstock sized

8 3/4  x  7 1/2".

I scored the 8 3/4" side at:

2 1/4,  3 1/4,  5 1/2  and  6 1/2".

I scored the 7 1/2" side at:

1  and  6 1/2".

Below is a picture of how your Cardstock should look after you score and cut it.

I attached several pieces of Harvest meadow Designer Series Paper to the box in sizes:

(3)  5 1/4  x  2"

(2)  5 1/4  x  3/4"

(2)  2  x  3/4"

I attached the DSP to the box with Liquid Glue.

I cut a Smooth Circle from Basic White Cardstock, a larger smooth circle from Bumblebee Cardstock and an even larger Scalloped Circle from Cajun Craze Cardstock using the Layering Circle dies.

I stamped the sentiment, from Nuts about Squirrels stamp set, onto the Basic White Circle using Early Espresso Ink.

I attached the Basic White Circle onto the Bumblebee circle and the Bumblebee circle to the Cajun Craze Scalloped circle with Liquid Glue.

I stamped the squirrel from the same stamp set onto Basic White Cardstock.

I stamped the fur of the squirrel first with Pumpkin Pie Ink.

Then I stamped the outline on top of the fur with Early Espresso Ink.

This is called 2 step stamping.

I fussy cut the squirrel out and attached it to the Basic White Circle with Dimensionals.

I cut leaves using a the Giving Gifts dies from Cajun Craze and Bumblebee Cardstocks.

I added the leaves under the squirrel with Liquid Glue at the tops only.

I made a Belly Band for the box using a  1 1/2  x  8" piece of Cajun Craze Cardstock.

I wound the Cardstock around the closed box then reinforced the corners with a Bone Folder.

I attached the ends with Liquid Glue making sure the Belly Band was tight enough to stay on but not too tight so it will not come off.

I attached the Scalloped circle with the Squirrel over the ends pieces of the Belly Band with Liquid Glue.

For the final touch I added some Matte Decorative dots around the sentiment.
