Hi Friends!
My project today is a Halloween Box that will hold 2 fun sized candy bars. You can make 2 boxes from one sheet of Basic Black Cardstock. I used Cute halloween Designer Series Paper, Black and White Gingham Ribbon, Simply Scored Tool, Basic Black and Pumpkin Pie Cardstocks.
I started with a piece of Basic Black Cardstock sized 8 1/2 x 5 1/2.
I scored the 8 1/2" side at:
1 1/2, 4, 5 1/2 and 8".
I scored the 5 1/2" side at:
1 1/2 and 4 3/4".
To cut and put the box together you can watch my Video Tutorial Here.
Below is what your Cardstock should look like after scoring and cutting.
I attached 3 pieces of Cute Halloween Designer Series Paper to the box.
(2) 2 1/4 x 3" for the front and back
(1) 1/2 x 2 1/4" for the front flap.
I attached the DSP to the box with Liquid Glue.
I cut another piece of the Cute Halloween DSP to 2 1/4 x 2 1/2".
I put the paper down so the 2 1/4" side was the width.
I made a pencil mark at the bottom of the paper at 1 1/8".
I cut each side of the banner by starting at the mark and cutting diagonally to each top corner.
I attached a 1/4 x 3" piece of Pumpkin Pie Cardstock to the top of the banner with Liquid Glue.
I turned the banner over and trimmed the edges of the strip to match the banner.
I punched two small holes in each side of the strip on the top of the banner with a 1/8" hole punch about 1/4" from each side.
I positioned the banner on the box where I wanted it and made two pencil marks through the holes onto the front flap and punched them out.
I made 2 pencil marks on the body of the box through the flap and punch them also.
I cut an 11" piece of Black and White Gingham Ribbon and put it through the body of the box first, then the back of the flap, and then the banner.
I used a clip to hold the ribbon tight while I tied a bow on top of the banner.
